Top Three Soccer Picks for Matchday 1 of the Premier League
The wait will be over. The Premier League is finally back! While Spain and Germany resume next week along with Italy the subsequent week, it also means that my weekly column of gambling chooses creates its return!
Soccer bettors rejoice!
For new subscribers, I post this column each Friday and set out my favorite collections across the European football world (of fair value;??I won’t include anything at the -200 area ) and usually outline some news, notes and trends that have developed across the leagues. My focus is generally Premier League, La Liga, Serie A, Bundesliga and Ligue 1, but I’ll throw in the occasional Eredivisie or even Liga NOS picks sometime??as well.
France’s Ligue 1 starts this weekend also, but I will use this week’s column to get a trio of all Premier League picks.
The Premier League will be deep. Yes, we’ve got the six, however clubs like Everton, Wolves, Leicester, Watford and West Ham could, on paper , put some fear into those larger clubs and produce the table intriguing.
Important to note as always: most of the time that it’s in your best interest to make your stakes AFTER starting XI’s have been announced. All these come out roughly an hour before kickoff, however, personnel can alter everything. Always have a contingency plan or stay away from gambling a??game completely when a star??player or 2 are lost from the starting lineup.
Do not force anything and always remain up to date on player and manager notes and news.
Additionally, the very first couple of months can be hard. What’s changed over a club over the summer break? Is that fresh move going to pan out from the Premier League? Who’s this new supervisor? Occasionally it might be best to wait for a few games before you begin betting so you may get a sense of a given team.
That’s my advice to you personally. Me? I am gont jump into headfirst this week and I have three Premier League stakes up.
Here is hoping we start with a bang! Let us go!
As always, chances courtesy Bovada.
Wolves, the darlings of many a casual Premier League viewer and many a footy bettor searching for an underdog play last season, start the brand new campaign on the road at Leicester. Though the underdog 1X2 price of +260 seems pretty great, my drama here will be OVER 1.0 goal for Wolves at +120.
First things first: Wolves were always much better against teams that dominated possession, letting their opponents”believe” they were getting their way, even playing”their game.” However, in fact, anglers were in their best in this specific spot then pouncing on errors using a blistering counter-attack that frequently yielded pretty football and even flatter targets.
This is a major part of the reason that I’ll be financing the Wolves OVER 1 within their opener. Leicester finished eighth in the Premier League in possession last season (50.8%) and this will possibly allow anglers to settle back and play with their match.
But another major issue for Leicester is that the fact that their very best centre back, Harry Maguire, has been sold to Manchester United with no replacement coming in. What does that mean to the center of the backline? Well, most likely, we’ll visit Jonny Evans and ??aglar S??y??nc?? and while the latter played a few solid minutes last season, I just don’t find them doing enough to maintain Wolves off the plank.
The Foxes won this fixture 2-0 final year, but Wolves obtained revenge in January using a 4-3 goal-fest in the reverse osmosis. I am not suggesting we see seven objects in this but??that I surely do not see Wolves being kept off the scoresheet. I expect this team to be brimming with confidence to open the season.

Man, did anyone in the Premier League have a much worse transport window compared to Crystal Palace? Furthermore, you can create a case that Everton had one of the best five windows.
Palace will be a tragedy this season. They offered asserting young fullback Aaron Wan-Bissaka and essentially did nothing with the money they got for him. Who did they earn? Well, it is a veritable who’s who of dull Premier League players: Jordan Ayew, James McCarthy and Gary Cahill lead the underwhelming collection of all incomings.
I am able to talk about how I like the loan??move for midfielder Victor Camarasa from Real Betis, however, it is irrelevant. I like OVER 2.5 at +115 in this one and once I look at the possible Everton XI, I really wouldn’t be surprised when the Toffees care of this amount themselves.
Everton could have an assault which includes Richarlison, Gylfi Sigurdsson, Alex Iwobi and Moise Kean on Saturday, the latter two coming over from Arsenal and Juventus respectively. That is a pretty great quartet right there, people.
Only two of the previous four Premier League encounters between these two would have eclipsed 2.5 and also this fixture last year generated a drab 0-0 competition but it did yield 22 attempts by the people.
Sure, it’s always tricky from the first weeks in regards to gambling, but I will tell you that much: I will be seeking to play against Palace at every twist this year and a huge reason for that is a lack of center encircle the likes of Maguire. I believe Everton includes a subject here but I wouldn’t be amazed to see Palace hit on the board. So I’ll take OVER 2.5.

If you read my column on Premier League Futures Bets, you will notice I like Brighton to have relegated this year. I really don’t expect much out of this group and I’m gonna try fading them in their opener out to Watford this weekend.
I like Watford a whole great deal. They have the capability and staff to perform some attractive football and score some big wins and cash wagers with adequate prices attached. Like this spot at -110.
The Hornets stack the middle of the pitch within their 4-2-2-2 creation and boast talented players like Troy Deeney, Gerard Deulofeu, Roberto Pereyra and Abdoulaye Doucour??. In addition, they included exciting broad player Isma??la Sarr out of Stade Rennais as well as experienced forwards Danny Welbeck. I already liked the setup but with a prospect and a veteran coming , Watford has filled out some depth here.
Brighton doesn’t really bring much to the table, but did add some intriguing pieces to the mixture like Neal Maupay, Leandro Trossard and underrated midfielder Aaron Mooy. However, I think they are completely outclassed in this , particularly at Vicarage Road.
Nearly a year ago to this day, Watford won this fixture 2-0 thanks to a brace from Pereyra, who faces a late fitness test when he’s to feature??Javi Gracia. Still, I believe that the Hornets are able to bag a win in the front of the home crowd and get their season off into a buzzing start.
On that note, I’ll end this week’s column.
